Governance

The Market Bosworth Community Library was entered on the Register of Charities on the 4th February 2016 and our registered charity number is 1165437.

The library transferred from Leicestershire County Council to the charity on Monday 15th August 2016 and the Trustees are now responsible for the day to day operation of the library and its development.

The objects of the charity are:

1) The advancement of education for the public benefit in Market Bosworth and surrounding area by the provision of a volunteer run lending library.

2) To promote for the benefit of the residents of Market Bosworth the provision of a public library for recreation and or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said residents.

The charity will have a membership whom will be able to vote at an annual general meeting to appoint the Trustees and oversee the constitution and governance of the charity. Members of this Incorporated Organisation will have a limited liability of £10. The initial Trustees will all stand down at the first annual general meeting but may nominated for re-election. Trustees will then retire on a rolling three year basis.

The Trustees may be contacted at the library or by use of the Home/Contact page of this website.
